Lady Icers Headed for the National Tournament!
Lady Icers Sweep Buffalo at Home
The Lady Icers swept buffalo this weekend 5-0 and 7-0.  Seven different players scored on Saturday and 14 assists were tallied as the Lady Icers continue to improve. With the two wins over Buffalo, the Lady Icers record ends up tied with Massachusetts in the ECWHL. By virtue of goals against, the Lady Icers win the tiebreaker to move into second place in the ECWHL. The ECWHL Championship is next weekend in Rohode Island.  
The Lady Icers received their official bid Wedenesday and will be headed to Blaine, MN in March.

Lady Icers Sweep UMass
Penn State Awaits Year's First Rankings
The Lady Icers traveled to Massachusetts and beat UMass 2-0 and 3-2.  Alicia Lepore led the scoring with 3 goals accompanied by a goal by Julie Horn and a goal by Kirsten Evans.  Heath Rossi recorded her first shut out after stopping 43 shots in the game.

After sweeping on of their tougher opponents the Lady Icers are eagerly awaiting this year's first rankings.  Head Coach Mo Stroemel is optimistic that the team can break into the top 10.

Lady Icers Return Home
Penn State wins 13-0 over Slippery Rock
After a tough road trip against Liberty, the Lady Icers returned home to play  Slippery Rock.  The Lady Icers easily defeated Slippery Rock 13-0 improving their record to 1-1-1.  Scoring  was lead by senior Alicia Lepore with a hat trick.  The Lady Icers head to Amherst, MA this weekend to play UMass.  UMass is one of the toughest teams in the league, so this will be a much more challenging game.  Wish the Penn State Lady Icers luck as they try to take down one of the top teams!

NEXT STOP, LYNCHBURG, VA!
The Lady Icers travel to Lynchburg Virginia this weekend to take on the Liberty University Flames. Last season saw some tough competition from the Flames, but the Penn State women will try to douse the flame this weekend!
